Apostolic Encampment 2

This is some more of the summarized notes of the Encampment. (Sunday night)

True spiritual warfare is an apostolic warfare to overcome concepts of the mind.

Demons laugh at some of the pathetic, churchy stuff some do out there. They prophesy strongholds coming down, but people go home unchanged. II Corinthians 10:4 says the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world, but they have divine power to demolish strongholds. It’s a military campaign.

The devil doesn’t mind us going to church. He sets up his kingdom in our minds. True apostolic sets people free through the renewing and reformation of their thinking, releasing them from strongholds.

Jesus is the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, of our faith.

Of all Christ’s gifts (He is them all), Satan most wants to be the apostle. You see the real estate Satan really wants is us. We are the real estate Jesus purchased with His blood, and we are where Jesus Christ sets up His kingdom and rule.

So, why the apostolic?

2 Corinthians 10:3-4

Explains, in definition, that the apostolic is a military campaign. The apostle contends with carnal inclinations in people, that they may be able to stand against the strategies of the enemy, giving him no place in our lives.

“… lest, somehow as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ”. 2 Corinthians 11:2-3

Satan and his ministers comes as angels of light, to set themselves up as apostles (pseudo) to seduce and set up throne in our minds, in our souls.

Military strategy requires knowing your enemy. True apostles contend for the throne of God in people’s souls by looking for inclinations in them. The enemy tries to manipulate and control the mind to establish his throne. The mind is where behavior begins.

Why do we love God and still disobey?

What is this wrong inclination?

2 Cor 10:3 Paul says the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly or carnal, but mighty through God, to the pulling down of strongholds.

These weapons are offensive. We are to be proactive, to establish God’s kingdom; go to war for people’s liberty to be devoted to Christ.; dealing with the character of men, their strongholds, which are based on lies and deceptions sown in their lives; pulling down violently these thought patterns that lead to actions that become habits and form character. This seed of thought becomes the citadels and produces wrong imaginations and computations (logismos).

Isaiah 26:3 perfect peace comes from having our minds stayed on Him; having our minds and thoughts, our imaginations focused on Him.

Consider why you behave the way that you do.

Where did that inclination come from?

What is needed to overthrow this thinking process?

Jesus, our Apostle, is relentless and comes where He is invited.

There are principalities, but we can’t contend against them.

We need a contention, a war against the strongholds in our minds and everything that sets itself or exalts itself against the knowledge of who Christ is.

Too many want to go to church and sit, then come back next week and do the same again.

Contend against carnal inclinations.

Why is there arrogance and fighting amongst us?

We get inclined to something. A thought is planted. A guy who is imploding starts losing character inside. Someone who explodes you can take out for coffee and help them and contend for peace in the soul, but the one who implodes is having his inner man , his secret self quietly eroded. We need to get aggressive in the Spirit for peace in people’s lives.

People can have all the certificates lined up on their walls from all the courses they took, but still remain unchanged. We have roots that cause us to have the habits, etc. that we do. All behavior starts with a seed of thought, when acted on, becomes an action, when that is acted on, becomes a habit, which becomes behavior.

We sometimes ask, “Is this all in life? Or does Jesus have something more for me?” We can have lots of giftings, but no depth. We can be very shallow. We can be too shallow with God, and therefore He is shallow with us. It can be the same with people. Insecure people create insecurity around them. These are enemies we deal with. We are in military service.

There’s character stuff to deal with. Arrogance before a fall, pride before destruction. Be sober-minded. In your heart, be as a child. Be wise as serpents, harmless as doves. God wants to overthrow wrong character in your life. Character is what you are when no one is watching. We need to find depth of character. Who are we? Who is the real you? What will you do and who are you automatically? We have to get to depth! Be the person you were called to be.

The apostolic is about overthrowing wrong mindsets.
